Stefan laughed goodnaturedly. "Alright alright, Aber you must call me by mein name. You are Dimitri, und I am Stefan, not Herr intern!" he smiled and continued laughing. This was definitely an interesting relationship already.
Looking apologetic, he giggled a bit nervoulsy, "I am sorry, I did not mean to be so....animated. Und.... Selbverständlich means Of course!!" the nervous giggle morphed back into that adorable giggle-laugh as he was no longer nervous. "I am funny? Danke Herr Do--Dimitri, mein Freund!"
At the shudder-questioning, he put the grin back on his face, "Nein nein, I just...do not like obstetriks very much....." He wasn't about to let out to this man that he was gay....no matter how good natured this guy was, who knows what he would have done if he let that slip.

"Da, da, of course! I am Dimitri and you are Stefan and ve are callink each-other by first names because this is friendly and also very easy! --Yes, yes, it is very much okay that you are beink animated! I do not mind this! Just be careful not to startle me if I have sharp scalpel in my hand, you know?"
Dimitri laughed along as well, thinking that this was the most laugh-filled conversation that he had spoken in recent history. Dr. Karloff was rather fond of laughing, however, and thus more than pleased to be in this particular conversation! --Though he did not speak German, Dimitri was positive that the word 'Freund' meant 'friend.' Friend!? Holy Heaven on Earth, did Dimitri have a friend? The Russian somehow managed to contain himself, mentally reminding himself that Germans were very unusual people and perhaps they used the word 'Freund' very loosely.
"Ah, obstetrics" Dimitri said, happy to be able to talk about something other than the fact that he was desperate do have friends. "No. Yes, I can see vhy you do not like this very much. People all have different interests. -And you have interest in seeink corpses, yes?"

Stefan almost couldn't stop laughing at this little ramble of a paragraph that had just spewed forth from that mouth. It was....hilarious honestly. He was adorable, for an older rougish looking man. "Ja ja, of course. " He held out his hand and pretended to write a note on it. "Never scare Dimitri by jumping around when he has scalpels in his hand."
He was by no means an oblivious person. He Immediately saw his slight disbelief at the word freund being used towards him. Cocking his head to the side a bit, he smirked. "Do you not have many freunds Dimitri?" He asked, wondering.
"Ja ja! i love dissecting and autopsying people. it is Sehr fun!" he replied animatedly when the question came up. It was always fun to look inside people. At medical school he used to stay at the school after classes were over to help the professor move the cadavers and organize the spare parts and such. He enjoyed that better than he did the regular classes.

It was very evident that Dimitri and Stefan were (figuratively) cut from the same cloth. It wasn't every day that Dr. Karloff had such enjoyable and carefree conversation. In fact, he was usually much more aware of himself when he met new people! Stefan, however, only managed to encourage Dimitri to be even more 'Dimitri' than ever!
It also appeared that Stefan was alike to Dimitri in the fact that they were both rather observant people, as Mr. Musiol suddenly asked the Coroner if he did not have many friends. Dimitri blinked and gave a hesitant cough in order to buy himself a little bit of time. Deciding that honesty was the best policy, Dr. Karloff put on a calm smile, shook his head a little and said, "No, not very many."
Quickly continuing in hopes that Stefan might forget the topic of friend-lacking, Dimitri said, "Yes, I agree! It is very fun! And if you are vantink to start right avay, I have corpse all ready for you to cut up!"

Stefan had come across quite a few people in this hospital. Most of them didn't like him, but this guy not only seemed to like him but was also the most friendly face he'd encountered since starting his internship last week at Seattle Grace. And he was cute so that was even better!! It was really fun to get to know who he hoped would become his new boss, especially since he seemed to like him so much.
When he heard that the man didn't have very many friends, Stefan's entire demeanor changed. His eyes opened wide for a moment, then his entire face was awash with sadness. "That very sad ist.....you should have friends, you are a very cool und interesting person. I don't have many friends either." He said quietly. Not two seconds of silence later, his eyes lit up and he grinned that maniacal grin, waggling his eyebrows suggestively at the other man. "We will be each other's friends, ja? It works perfectly!! Und ja! corpses must be cut Freund! Mein Freund, mein BESTE FREUND!!" He leapt up, but much slower this time, so as not to startle Dimitri, and held out his hand like he always did when someone was going somewhere with him.
"Komm then, to die corpses!!"
((aww....so sweet. the hospital rejects or something hehe.))

That reaction from Stefan was precisely why Dimitri had not wanted to voice and admittance of being friendless. After all, is was sad and it was pitiful that Dr. Karloff did not have many friends. It made him sound like a very lonely person indeed. He did not mean to give Stefan this impression of him and he hoped it wasn't going to stick. The only thing worse than being friendless was having a pitty-friend who only offered companionship because they felt sorry for you.
Though, Stefan seemed sincere in his offers of friendship, especially with his own confession of being without many friends himself. This should not have made Dimitri feel better, but it did. Ha. He wasn't the only person who people didn't bother to get to know! Not only that, but Stefan was now using the F-Word with much greater frequency. Dimitri's eyes watered over, brimming with sentimentality. He sniffed once and blinked a few times to keep himself from looking ridiculously over-emotional and grinned at Stefan -- a bit lost for words. Dr. Karloff stood, and when the Intern held out his hand, Dimitri grabbed it. All at once, he pulled Stefan into a tight hug, slapping the German fondly upon the back.
"Yes, yes. Ve vill be friends and this is very good for me if it is very good for you," He said with slight creaking in his voice, which he quickly laughed away.
Letting Stefan go again, Dr. Karloff tapped his eyes very quickly with the cuff of his sleeve, just to make sure he wasn't all drippy and laughed again. "Ah, I am havink allergies," he said in order to explain himself. "--Yes, yes! To the corpses! You follow me, I take you!"
With that, he gave a bit of an exaggerated walk, almost as if he was marching, in order to lead Stefan Musiol to the cadaver of Robert Huddleston, which was laying out on a metal examination table.

Stefan was a people person. He always had been. And now he had someone who was not only obviously a people person, but the same quirky type of people person that he was. He smiled, watching the tears form. It made his heart choke up in his throat, and officially made this man Stefan's definite best friend.
He was not expecting the hug, but he most definitely returned it, if nota little bit harder, not so much patting, but rubbing the Russian's back rather reassuringly.
"Ja, it is VERY gut for both of us. I am your friend und you are mein!! We are die superheros of die morgue, ja? Die ÜberKoroner und his assistant die Verrückten Eisbär!!" he said with a grin, striking a pose before he realized Dimitri probably had NO idea what he'd just said. "Ah....the superkoroner, und the crazy polar bear, ja!! that is us!!"
Stefan grinned again, like an idiot as usual, and followed him, goose-stepping to the man at the table, covered with the cloth and looking as gaunt and pale as all corpses did. "Well Hallo, Herr korpse!! und we will be cutting him up ja?"

If Stefan pinned Dimitri as a people-person, he may have been right in the sense that Dr. Karloff liked people and seemed to have a similar method to Stefan as to how to deal with people. However, Dimitri was not a people-person in the sense that suggests that he often dealt with people. Dr. Karloff usually kept to himself in the morgue and only bothered the living when he was on trips to pick up the dead. Of course, there was the odd occasion when a pathological surgery or two was needed, but Dimitri did not have time to socialize during a surgical procedure and he usually got very little interaction before and after such events. Dr. Karloff was a bit of a recluse, really.
Now, however, he had Stefan Musiol to keep him company. Dimitri was already allowing himself to fantasize about what it would be like to keep Stefan in the morgue (as a worker, not a 'patient,' of course!) Dimitri had been working in Seattle Grace for a number of years and he had never had an intern! Well, perhaps it was only a matter of time before a person like himself should come along.
Dimitri was very pleased to have his hug and the reassuring pat-rub on his back. Apparently, it took another European for Dr. Karloff to have returned affection (as most, if not all, of the other doctors were less than pleased when Dimitri got clingy on them.) The sentimentality of it all made Dimitri sniff again, lest tears should roll down his face and make him look very silly. Rather than cry, Dimitri broke into a light laugh, which was quickly heightened into a rather loud laugh as Stefan shot off in German and then struck his pose.
Upon the translation, Dimitri said, "Ah! Yes! This is very strange and I am likink it much so! You are very crazy person, Stefan Musiol. This is good think! Ve vill be makink very good friends, I see!"
As they moved along to the corpse, it was good for Dimitri to see Stefan's eagerness to work with the dead. So many people had death-phobias (and let us not, at this point, get into what a person like Dimitri Karloff was afraid of.) Motioning to the body, Dimitri spoke in a low and theatrical way, "Stefan Musiol, meet Robert Huddleston. Mr. Huddleston, I hope you are not mindink that I brink a friend here to see you. --He is intern and he vill be cuttink you open today."
Dimitri spoke to the corpse in a completely serious way, as if he really thought that the late Robert Huddleston could hear him. This was one of the many reasons that the staff had insisted that Dr. Karloff undergo a psychiatric exam, no doubt.

Stefan was very pleased that his rather insane antics did not put this Dimitri man off in liking him one little bit! This was already a very very good friendship and he'd just met him!
"JAAAA!! Ve are already makink gut friends ja!" He said smirking. He watched Dimitri talking to the corpse, which he did not find odd at all. As he would now prove by continuing in the little farce and speaking with the now named Mr. Huddleston.
"Hallo Herr Huddleston! I am sorry you had to die, but I will make sure I will be careful mit your organs und things, I may be ein intern, but I know what I am doing when it comes to autopsies! We will....well....I will have fun, I hope I do not make you too uncomfortable!" Stefan patted the dead man's shoulder and smiled at Dimitri. "I am going to do this by meinself? Oder you are going to be helping me....you will be helping me ja? I would not want to mess this real autopsy up! I have only done die cadavers in medical school."
If Dimitri needed a psychological exam, then the staff would probably be saying this new German intern would be needing one rather quickly as well. They were like two peas in a European pod.

Dimitri and Stefen were, indeed, very much alike, which was odd because Dimitri was very used to being a 'strange' person and when there was another person who acted in ways similar to his own, well he started to feel a bit normal. Though 'normal' was different and not what Dr. Karloff was used to, it wasn't a bad thing to feel, really. It was oddly comforting and somehow a bit sentimental as well.
"Yes, I can see that ve vill be very good friends," Dimitri replied in a tone of absolute certainty. It was funny how the two men were to absolutely compatible, especially keeping in mind how other people usually reacted to Dimitri.
Grinning politely to the corpse, Dimitri said, "Yes, you see? He is very nice, like I have been tellink you. He vill be very careful, I promise." Turning his attention back to his living companion, Dr. Karloff said, "You think you are needink my help? I vill if you like, but I vas plannink to leave Mr. Huddleston in your capable hands. -- Yes, he is capable, Mr. Huddleston, he vent to medical school the same as me."
Dimitri's speaking to the corpse was not farce in the least. He truly did think that the dead were listening when he spoke. The coroner was a very odd person.

Stefan looked back and forth from the corpse to Dimitri. "I am thinking that for mein first real autopsy, it would be ein gut idea to have me only assisting you, ja?" Stefan did not doubt his own skills at dissecting anything, he'd gotten top marks almost all through his entire medical school career, but this was different.
Medical school was medical school, this was a real dead body (not that the cadavers he'd done in medical school weren't real), this person had a family waiting for the body so they could have a funeral. Stefan was scared shitless, to be honest. He didn't want to screw up this autopsy and end up disfiguring poor Mr. Huddleston. "Ja....Herr....Dimitri, I would much prefer that you are heading this up and I will be helping you."
Poor Mr. Huddleston. Stefan looked at him once more, then back to Dimitri, "I think either way, we should be hurrying in our decision, because Herr Huddleston could be getting very impatient about having to wait. zeit...eh..Time is running very fast."

Dimitri gave Stefan a small, encouraging smile. He thought that it was incredibly sweet that this intern seemed to scared. Dr. Karloff did not know much of anything about Stefan, but the German had gone from being quite sure of himself to seeming downright frightened. Of course, Dimitri completely understood. After all, he was once a young intern. In fact, there had been a moment in time much like this one where Dimitri had to preform his very first autopsy with a highly-skilled staff member in the area. He had been terrified out of his mind (especially at the aspect of messing up in front of his superior), but also completely excited. However, he was not about to force Stefan to dive headfirst into the whole thing if Stef really wasn't ready for it yet.
"Are you sure you are vantink me to do this? I trust you are very capable. Yes! Vhat medical school did you go to? Maybe I know person who has taught you and if so, I confirm you are capable! Nooothink to vorry about, yes? Okay?" Dimitri was not trying to force Stefan, but he was trying to make sure that Mr. Musiol got a sufficient amount of encouragement.
Stefan was right, Mr. Huddleston had been waiting for his autopsy for long enough. However, there was still time to have a small conversation in order to discuss what Stefan's role in the procedure would be and all of that fun stuff.

A small laugh exited Stefan's throat as he smiled at the other man. "Ja, ja....It is not that I do not think I can do it, Aber....I would much prefer you heading it up. This man has ein family waiting for him...und i would not want to be the one to accidentally mess things up, you know?" He crossed his arms over his chest and gnawed on his lower lip, smiling nervously at the obviously more learned man.
"I Know I am capable....I....Am used to cadavers who had no one to wait for, und no family to have funerals mit...this man ist different." He paused, realizing that the kind Russian had actually asked him a question, and feeling quite silly that he'd apparently ignored it. "Ah...ja! I went to Johns Hopkins, over on die east coast. Have you been there Mein Herr? It is a very nice school!" He laughed again, not as nervous now, knowing that Dimitri had such faith in him. "I know I am capable...aber....Cadavers at medical school are different than REAL corpses, ja? You understand what I mean?"
Stefan was glad that he was waiting and debating an autopsy, not something that had to do with a living patient, because if Mr. Huddleston had been alive, he most surely would have gotten impatient by now.

Poor Stefan seemed so concerned by the idea that a family would be waiting to see this dead man after the autopsy was complete. It was very nice to see that the Intern was conscious of this fact. However, it was not good that Stefan was getting so nervous about it. Nervousness made for shaky hands and imprecise work. There was no need for Stefan to work himself up and Dr. Karloff hoped that he could calm and encourage his intern.
"Do not be vorryink," Dimitri said, patting Stefan on the shoulder. "You vill be doink very-very good job and ve are havink no problems. -- Does not matter vhat his insides are lookink like, he vill be vearink funeral tuxedo. You are havink no reasons to be any nervous, okay?"
When Stefan said the words 'John Hopkins,' Dimitri's face fell into an expression of uttermost shock with raised eyerbows, gaping mouth, and wide eyes. He certainly wasn't expecting that and Dr. Karloff was a man who wore his emotions on his sleeve, and so his surprise was almost comically evident.
"Oh, John Hopkins," Dimitri repeated, breaking into a smile once more. Giving a small laugh, he then sang, "You are goink to steeeeal my joooooob."

Stefan was not worried, he simply....damn. alright, it's just time to talk straight then. He put a smile on his face and patted the other man's shoulder. "Mein Herr, Dimitri, I am not nervous, really....it ..it is just that doing alle die autopsies at school ist one thing. It...It feels different now. It was almost like....die kadavers were not....real people. I did not mind it then, und I had all die confidence in die world. Aber...jetzt....now? Now it ist...different. I know that I have die ability to do this...und I know that I am skilled....aber....it...it feels differeint. I cannot explain it."
Stefan looked up at him, though Dimitri was not much taller than he, smiling almost coyly. "I would be honoured to assist you mit this autopsy. I can work on mein own later. After all, it is only mein first day." He laughed a little at Dimitri's little joking song, poking at his chest.
"Maybe I should do die autopsy, if you are having such doubts about dein job standing!"
