Name: Dr. Robert Chase
Age: 34
Model: Jesse Spencer
Personality: Kind, compassionate doctor. He is able to sympathize with his patients, but knows when he reaches the point where he needs to start distancing himself from a case, especially when he begins to suspect his patient is lying (having learned that more patients end up lying than telling the truth). He’s usually a pretty positive person most of the time, upbeat around others. He is also extremely creative when it comes to finding treatment options for his patients.
Occupation: Cardiac Intensivist – having completed a surgical residency, Dr. Chase subsequently completed 2 fellowships, one in Cardiac Intensive Care Medicine, and the other in Diagnostic Medicine which he has just completed. He is currently working as an attending in Seattle Grace’s ICU as an cardiac intensivist, but also performs critical care surgeries.
History: Chase was born and raised in Australia and still has an accent while working in the US. His father was a famous doctor in Australia who left the family when Chase was just a teenager, leaving him no other option but to care for his alcoholic mother, who would die 5 years later. Chase hadn’t seen or spoken to his father again until a month before his father passed away when he showed up after Chase had just started working at Seattle Grace for no apparent reason, without saying anything about his health. A month later, Chase got the phone call that his father had died of lung cancer.
Chase has always been very focused on his work, and determined to do well in everything he tries for. His ambition is what drove him to seek not only a competitive specialty but to follow it up with two even more competitive and highly sought out fellowships enjoying learning more about his field and trying to become the best at what he does.
