Name: Dr. Michael (Mike) Crane MD
Age: 30
Model: Wentworth Miller
Personality: Mike is nice to almost everyone and loves his job. He enjoys being able to help others. He’s very friendly, but also shy at times (not one to try to be the center of attention in a group).
Occupation: Dr. Crane is an anesthesiologist and is starting a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology. He works with patients of all ages, but his fellowship allows him to work with children as well who require more complicated knowledge of the field.
Being an anesthesiologist allows Dr. Crane to work in the OR (providing general and local anesthetic to patients and monitoring them throughout the surgery to ensure that the vitals are stable) as well as at the patients bedside (providing pain management to injured, sick, and even epidurals to birthing mothers), as well as sedation of patients out of control (often paged to psych) or sedation required for procedures outside the OR.
Like most anesthesiologists, Mike is content to not get the glory that comes to many other doctors. Though he is a crucial part of surgeries, the surgeons always get the recognition and he’s fine with that. He didn’t go into medicine for the prestige but rather to help ease suffering, which being an anesthesiologist he gets to specialize in. He is the person directly alleviating pain or preventing the patient from experiencing it and gets his reward from knowing that.
History: Mike grew up in Chicago where most of his family still lives. He has one brother and was raised mostly by his mother. His father hasn’t been a big part of his life, he would show up every few years but never stayed more than a couple weeks at a time. Because of this Mike has trouble letting people in despite making friends easy, they don’t always know much about his life.
Extra things: Likes: children, animals, helping people
Dislikes: Doctors who fail to put the patient first,
