Dr. Karloff hummed happily to himself as he wheeled a gurney into the elevator to take it down to the morgue. Upon the bed was the figure of an obvious human, obviously dead and draped over with a white sheet. As the elevator made a cheerful 'bing!' and descended, Dimitri drummed his fingers on the edge of the bed, picking up the tempo of his tune just a little bit and mentally already slicing into the deceased Mr. Overbeck, who was indeed the person who used to posses the now dead-body.
Almost suddenly, there was a small, but noticeable mechanical strain of a noise and the elevator stopped. However, it was apparently nothing serious, as the machine gave another pleasant 'bing!' and opened the doors to let in another passenger. Dimitri craned his head to the side to see who his new elevator-companion might be.

Izzie stood outside the elevator waiting a little impatiently her fingers fiddling with the stethescope hanging from around her neck. Finally she heard the soft *ding* that preceded the door opening. She smiled politely as she saw another doctor there with a patient on a gurney. She wondered if the patient was headed for tests or lab work maybe. When she entered she looked down to greet the patient when she saw the sheet covering the..not patient, but body. She took a deep breath to hide her surprise before turning around and pressing the button for the floor she wanted.

When the woman entered with her polite grin, Dimitri was sure to give her one in return. He bounced on his heels a bit, noticing the woman's eyes as they drifted to the corpse on the gurney, lingered for a moment, and widened for a second in momentary surprise. Dimitri's smile remained and he gave a small nod and casually spoke. "Do not mind Mr. Overbeck. He had very tough day today."
At that moment, there was a horrific noise from the disgruntled elevator as it decided that it could no longer take the pain of being a fully-functional elevator in such a cruel and heartless world. As the noise resounded, the floor dropped a few inches and then jerked to a sudden stop with enough force to knock Dr. Karloff off of his feet. Rather luckily, Mr. Overbeck stayed on his gurney, though the movement jostled an arm out from under the sheet.

"Yes it looks like he has" Izzie replied to Dr. Karloff's comment of the dead patient having long day. She let her eyes trail up the the illuminated numbers above the door of the elevator waiting for hers to appear. Before she knew it the floor was dropping more rapidly then it should have before it jerked to a stop. Izzie let out a gasp as she lost her bearing, looking over to see the other doctor lose his as well.
She looked up nervously in almost slow motion knowing it would be her luck to have the body fall on her right now. Izzie let out a brief scream as the arm fell out from under the sheet. She then breathed a sigh of relief as nothing else moved. Letting her heart rate return to a semi normal speed again she looked over at the other doctor embarrassed by her noises.
"I'm sorry...I wasnt expecting that I guess"

When the elevator stopped, Dimitri sat on the floor for a moment before pulling himself back to his feet, groaning slightly as he did so. Izzie's scream had startled him, but her apology set him at ease a bit. Really, the Coroner couldn't blame her for screaming at such an unexpected event. (Though, he had assumed that her scream was due to the elevator's odd behavior rather than the movement of the corpse.) Rubbing his shoulder, as if simply to check and see that he was still all in once piece, Dimitri replied, "Is alright. Is fine. I vas not expectink that either. -- You are okay?"
With that, Dr. Karloff approached Izzie and offered his hand to her in order to help her back up. Doing so, he looked at her and added, "You are not hurt?"
It was only polite to make sure that the lady was okay.

Izzie was still sitting on the floor recovering her breathing from her momentary fear of having a corpse fall on her when saw the other doctor getting up. She saw the man rubbing his shoulder and wondering if he had injured himself in the fall. She then smiled as he came over offering her his hand to help get up. She graciously took it pulling herself back up to her feet.
"Thank you, and yes, I'm fine, not hurt. Are you alright? You didnt hurt your shoulder did you? " She asked.

When Izzie had gotten back to her feet, Dimitri slapped her lightly on the side of the arm in a friendly sort of way. At once, he noted that the elevator had stopped moving. Now, Dimitri was not sure what had caused this, but he assumed that the sudden jerking of the elevator combined with it's stillness. . .probably implied that something was broken.
When Izzie spoke, Dimitri replied, "Good. It is good that you are not hurt. --Eh? No. Vell, yes. But only a little. Is not serious." Slapping his sore shoulder with the palm of his hand, Dimitri added, "Vill just have a small bruise. Is no biggie."

Izzie watched as the man slapped his shoulder. "Are you sure its nothing serious? I can take a look at it if you want? " Izzie offered. The man was obviously a doctor as well, but sometimes it was hard to see an injury on yourself, especially in a place like a shoulder where he couldnt realy look that completely.
She gave a glance over at the elevator numbers, which were all dark now, with no sounds emitting from the compartment. "We may be in here awhile.."

Dimitri have a shrug, which was a bit lopsided due to the fact that his shoulder was, in fact, a bit sore. The Russian had somehow managed to knock his shoulder into the wall of the elevator during that abrupt stop that had caused both doctors to fall (and luckily, had only stirred the corpse a little bit.) "No, no. Is nothink serious. I vill probably need ice and that is all. Nothink broken."
It appeared that Izzie had also come to the conclusion that the elevator was broken. Dr. Karloff allowed his eyeline to mimic Izzie's and he too saw that the usually-lighted numbers were currently dark. ". . .I think you may be right," Dimitri confirmed.

Izzie was glad to hear that he didnt think his injury was anything serious. "Okay, if you change your mind while we're in here let me know, or I once we do get out I can go with you down to X-Ray, see if they'll take a quick film" Izzie offered. She was on good terms with the radiologist. Or rather the radiologist oggled her when she came down and did her bidding while making sexist comments. But it did work to her advantage when she needed things.
As the other man confirmed that they probably wouldnt be getting out anytime soon, Izzie suddenly became very aware that she may be spending a prolonged period of time in this confined space with a freshly dead body (that had almost fallen on her). She also realized she didnt even know the other doctors name.
"I'm Isobel Steven's by the way, you can call me Izzie" She introduced herself with a smile.

"I do not think I vill need of X-Rays, but thank you very much," Dimitri replied, thinking that this woman was very nice to show concern.
It wasn't so bad, Dimitri thought, to be trapped in the elevator. So far, nothing was going too wrong. . .except for the fact that he would not be able to get to work. Then again, they had no idea of knowing how long they would be trapped in there. The Russian touched the elevator-panel, scanning for a button to push in case of elevator malfunction. He saw no such button.
When Izzie introduced herself, Dr. Karloff turned to face her again. Smiling back at her and offering his hand to her for a handshake, he said, "I am Dimitri Karloff. --Isobel Stevens, Isobel Stevens, Isobel Stevens. Yes, I vill call you Izzie, but only if you call me Dimitri. Yeah, okay?"

“Alright, good, I’m glad its not that bad” Izzie said again, relieved that there wasn’t an injury because of the elevator malfunction. As she watched the other doctor looking for another button to push, she tried to take her mind off of the fact that she was in an elevator with a recently deceased patient. She wondered how long they’d be in here. She wondered if anyone would even notice they were gone. Knowing her luck Bailey would just think she was ignoring her work and give her hell for it once she was freed.
Izzie watched as Dr. Karloff repeated her name a few times, at first she wondered if maybe he had heard of her before…probably not a good thing if he had. But then he seemed to decide to call her Izzie which made her smile, especially since this obviously more experienced doctor was letting her, an intern, address him by his first name. “Sure, that would be nice, thank you Dimitri” She said shaking his hand.

Dimitri gave Izzie a nod to affirm once more that he was not badly hurt. In spite of himself, his eyes drifted up toward the ceiling of the elevator, as if looking for a panel that could be removed like in the movies. Sometimes, Dr. Karloff had a bit of an over-active imagination, but at least it kept him occupied. He was the kind of guy that was never bored.
The Coroner could see that Isobel seemed pleased by the first-name-basis, but he assumed that was because she simply preferred to be called 'Izzie' and not that him asking her to call him Dimitri had anything to do with anything. Taking the girl's hand, Dimitri carefully placed his left hand over the back of Izzie's right and shook her hand in both of his own. "Yes, is no problem. --I am assumink you are not claustrophobic, yes?"

Izzie watched as Dimitri looked towards the ceiling of the elevator. She looked up as well, wondering if he saw or heard something. Maybe there was a group of cute firemen already on their way to pull her out of the elevator. But she didnt hear anything...and she knew no one even knew they were in here yet. The elevator hadnt been stopped long enough for anyone to notice.
Izzie smiled at how eagerly Dimitri shook her hand, he seemed like a very friendly guy, especially for a guy who was currently with a corpse. She wondered if he was a pathologist. She always assumed those guys were probably anti-social and had chosen their specialty so they wouldnt have to deal with people. She was already starting to question her preconceived notions. But then agian maybe he was just transfering the body to the pathologist and was in another specialty.
"Me, no, thankfully not claustraphobic, but depending on how long we're in here, I may be after this experience" She said jokingly. "You're not either I assume?" He seemed rather calm.

Really, Dimitri was very eager to talk to people. Though he loved spending time with the deceased, it was true that dead people rarely held good conversations. Dr. Karloff was happy to have people to talk to, though he wasn't entirely great at making conversation and he sometimes came off as incredibly odd or even creepy.
"No, I am not a claustrophobe," Dimitri replied, looking around the elevator again as if he might have missed something the first time he had looked around. Taking a breath, the Coroner added, "You have cellphone?"
Young blonde women always had cellphones, didn't they?
